The Jewish Culture Festival Ariel is annual event, started in 2004, that introduces ancient as well as modern music, fine art, literature and philosophy, connected to the Jewish cultural tradition and roots. The Festival is based up on the performance of one or two Jewish music styles; one of them is avant-garde jazz connected with the Jewish traditional music, and the second one is the Jewish ethnic music. Other activities such as lectures, exhibitions and new books presentations also take place in this event. The idea of the Festival is to build bridges between different cultures and to present the variety of the Jewish culture by its world-famous and most professional representatives from many different countries.

The artistic directors of the festival are Jaan-Eik Tulve and Ilja Sundelevitsh.

In 2011, Ariel presents an ethnoclassical singer Ilana Eliya, born in Israel of Kurdish descent. Eliya feeds off both her own extensive cultural heritage as well as the rich tapestry of ethnic sounds, smells and spirits emanating from the Middle East. Boris Malkovsky, an Israeli composer and bayan master will be performing Time Petah-Tiqva - a program said to be "an almost breathless listen, filled not only with sophistication and imagination, but discipline and a helluva sense of humor to boot" (Thom Jurek, All Music Guide). One of the festival’s headliners is Yair Dalal, a master of the oud and ambassador of the rich and unique musical traditions of Iraqi Jews. With Vox Clamantis he will present a program named ‘Jerusalem’ on 11th of November in St Nicholas’ Church, performing music from the Judaic, Christian and Islamic cultures.
